Settings

From settings tab, you can set more advanced variables for the device user you just have created. Available options of settings tab differs on basis of the protocol selected while creating the user.

 
For H323 Protocol, you have following options:-
Host
:
You can set host IP for the device user. This option let you to allow your device user for IP authentication. Note that if you put any IP in the host, SyncSwitch will not do any type of user authentication rather than IP authentication. For customers who want to send traffic via IP-IP authentication, you can allow his IP here.
Port
:
You can set custom H323 port number for your device user. Sometimes you need to change the port number for various network issues. In that type of case, this option gives you flexibility to use any port number you want. By default the port is set to 1720.
H245 Tunneling
:
H245 tunneling is a feature of H323 protocol. This H323 feature allows any H245 message to use the available H245 Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) session as an alternative to the use of a second TCP session for H245. H.245 Tunneling simply eliminates an extra TCP connection You can allow or disallow H245 tunneling with this option. By default this is set to Yes.
Fast Start
:
Fast start is another H323 protocol feature. Fast Start makes the call start quicker. You can enable or disable Fast start by this option. By default it is set to yes.
Allowed Codec
:
SyncSwitch does support a large number of Codec i.e. GSM, g723, g729, Ulaw, alaw, g726aal2, adpcm, slin, lpc10, speex, ilbc, g726, g722, h261, H263, h263p, h264 etc. You can choose your desired codec that you want to allow for your device user from here. As well as you can select multiple codec for any specific account.

 

For SIP protocol, you have following options-
For SIP Account, the page return when you click on Settings tab – you have 3 sections.
 
In Registration section, it describe about the registration status of the device user like registration name, registered IP, registration time, server and full address.
Basic Settings section, you have following options-
Host
:
Same as h323 host.
Port
:
You can set custom SIP port number for your device user. Sometimes You need to change the port number for various network issues. In that Type of case, this option gives you flexibility to use any port number you want. By default the port is set to 5060.
Proxy
:
Proxy means if you want to handle media completely or just want to do signaling by bypassing media. You can enable or disable proxy from this dropdown as well as can set to NO NAT and update state.
NAT
:
If you know the network of the user, you should select correct option, otherwise you can select ‘Yes’ by default
Allowed Codec
:
Same as H323 Allowed Codec
 
Advanced Setting section, you have following options-
 
Caller ID
:
It replaces the caller ID by given value in this field and sends to the terminating end.
Acceptable Latency
:
By this option, Switch monitors the device. It sends 3 ping periodically to the device to check its availability. If it misses or not in the limit, switch automatically un-register this device until it is resumed.
Video Support
:
SyncSwitch allows Video conferencing. You can allow or disallow your device user to use video support by this option.
Default IP
:
In case of NAT, this IP will be used as default IP if there is no registration IP found.
Allowed Network
:
Sometimes you need to work in private DHCP network with IP Authentication. This is very tough to authenticate with IP from a DHCP network. In that case, SyncSwitch allows you to allow a complete network for calling, whatever the IP is, he will be allowed to make a call.
Disallowed Network
:
Like the previous option, you can disallow a complete network for calling as well.
Authentication Mode
:
With this option, you can set the level of security you want. You can set complete Secured mode, neglect port while authentication, No Authentication during call and Neglect port and no authentication during a call.
From User
:
If you want to send calls to a gateway by registering with that with user password, you can put the username here with which you will register, so it will work.
DTMF Mode
:
You can set various DTMF Modes for your device users from this dropdown.
Language
:
From this dropdown you can select the language of the IVR it will play for this Device User.
 
For IAX2 Protocol, you have following options-
 
Registration Section
:
In registration section you can see the Registered name, Registered IP, Registered Port and Registration timer for the IAX2 Device User.
In Basic Settings section, you have following options-
Host
:
Same as H323 host
Allowed Codecs
:
Same as H323 Allowed codecs
For Advanced Settings, you have following options-
Caller ID
:
SyncSwitch allows you to set Caller ID for Device Users which will be sent as ID to the termination end.
Acceptable Latency
:
